1 - ABOUT THE RECIPE

Fight a cold or need an immune boost? Spicing up leftovers has never been easier. This super healthy and yummy infusion is especially good during cold seasons, for when your immune system needs an extra boost or just to raise spirits when energy is low.
Use any leftovers and get your creative juices flowing (pun intended) adding creative fun to your eating routines. This also a great recipe for kids or any curious minds who want to foster healthy cooking skills.
Not healthy enough for you, yet?
Crush some fresh ginger, garlic or curcumin through a garlic press and add to the soup. Or add diced tomatoes, spinach, rice, shiitake mushrooms, leftover chicken ... creative possibilities are endless.

2 - MISE EN PLACE

3 - Ingredients
 
 

  • 100 gram Salmon - cooked, choose Wild (best is Atlantic Sockeye) over farmed
  • 20 gram Quinoa - precooked (can be cooked in batch and frozen)
  • 10 gram Scallions (spring onions) - chopped
  • 5 gram Parsley - chopped
  • 400 ml Water - freshly brewed
  • 1 piece Green Tea - Tea bag
Prep Time 0 minutes
Cook Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

4 - HOW TO MAKE
 

  • Add all ingredients but water to a bowl, mix lightly
  • Add green tea bag to bowl
  • Bring water to a boil, let cool off for 1 minute, pour water over ingredients in bowl, mix careful with spoon
  • Remove tea bag after 7 minutes so all ingredients can blend, add salt, pepper and other spices you like to taste (some chili powder is awesome) Enjoy!

HEALTH SPOTLIGHT: SALMON

Green tea is one the healthiest beverage on the planet, containing ton's of beneficial ingredients  such as Vitamin C, B and Tannins aiding weight loss, heart health, boosts metabolism and supports fat burning. It's antioxidants have been suggested to be favourable treating and preventing breast, lung and stomach cancers, amongst others. It has also been claimed that a regular cup of green tea can protect against dementia and Alzheimer's as well as improve cholesterol levels.

Quinoa, a grain from South America, is one of the most protein-rich foods available,  because It includes complete (yep, all nine amino acids) profile (especially interesting for Vegetarian/Vegan lifestyles who avoid meat). Quinoa is a nutritional powerhouse, offering benefits like high protein content, essential amino acids, fiber for digestive health, and numerous vitamins and minerals like magnesium, iron, and B vitamins. It's gluten-free and may help control blood sugar levels, making it an excellent choice for overall health and balanced nutrition.
